Surgical correction of severely deviated or "saddle" noses poses specific problems which are often difficult to resolve due to the complexity of the deformities, particularly those of the septum.
A nose with substantial deviations or saddle deformities never escapes septal deformity, which in turn gives rise to certain unsightly abnormalities. Therefore, reconstruction of a septum in the mid-sagittal plane with sufficient rigidity inevitably results in the elimination of the ungraceful morphological changes that this deformity has caused while simultaneously restoring respiratory function.
Nasal and septal deformities should be corrected in the same stage.
